“Senior” Ruffnecks

2017 Senior Team Ready to Compete

2016 Senior Ruffnecks

The Ruffnecks “Senior” team is comprised mostly of 2018 grads.  The program is designed to provide rising seniors with an aggressive, challenging, schedule during the summer between their junior and senior years.  It is a schedule that demands considerable travel, and is an “every day” baseball experience from mid-June to the first week of August. The structure of the program is grounded in a team-oriented, competitive approach. The Ruffnecks travel to, and participate in, most of the important high-exposure events throughout the eastern region and the south.  The Ruffnecks are among the most actively followed summer programs by college recruiters. We do not claim to be exclusively a D-I college prospect team. Neither do we offer claims that we can get players a college scholarship. We work hard and honestly with each rising prospect to be his advocate, and to advise him with regard to his college aspirations. We have many very solid players who matriculate to outstanding D-II and D-III programs.

2016 Roster Features Talent & Depth

Second year Head Coach John Toffey will be managing a team with experience, talent, and depth.  Two players enter the summer already committed to high profile D-1 programs Boston College and Northeastern.  This is an every-day program mid-June through the beginning of August. Our travel schedule is intensive with virtually all weekends booked with activity.  Mid-week games are scheduled in the New England region when the team is not on the road.  Players are expected to travel with their teammates on team provided transportation to all tournaments that are out of state.  We expect players to be fully committed to the schedule.  Departures for showcases or college prospect camps is frowned upon during the Ruffnecks season.  There are ample opportunities to attend showcases or college camps in August after the season is over.  While we have enjoyed several professional signings from our ranks, this is a college development program first and foremost.
