Freshman Dan Findley leads Bowdoin – Andrew Bishop Strong for Williams
Freshman Dan Findley leads The Bowdoin College baseball team with a .475 average through the first 16 games of the season. He went 5-5 with 3 singles, a double and a home run in his opening game during the school’s Florida trip. Meanwhile, Andrew Bishop has contributed nicely to Williams College’s early season success. He is batting .375 in eight starts for the Ephs.
Chris Munnelly, a North Carolina native who lived with a Ruffnecks host family and pitched on the Ruffnecks College Prospect team in 2007 continues to do well for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Through 27 games he has thrown 23 innings striking out 23 and walking only 9. He is 1-0 on the season.
Derek Lowe Hits First Collegiate HR vs. LSU
Derek Lowe, who played with the Ruffnecks in 2008, hit is first home run for William and Mary against defending national champions LSU in a 9-6 loss on Sunday, February 28th. Derek was 2 for 3 in the game. He has found his way into the starting line-up for William and Mary. As of the weekend of March 6-7 Lowe is hitting .310 for William and Mary through the first nine games. The Lincoln-Sudbury HS graduate was a two sport athlete at LS in football and baseball.
