The Ruffnecks face the same challenges virtually all College Development Programs face in the current economic climate. Nevertheless, the program is committed to quality tournament play and travel for our teams. The baseball blog site, Rounding Third, mentions the Ruffnecks in their March 4th article along with several other top CDPs. Besides the flattering mention, the article clearly articulates the challenges, priorities, and considerations we all must be aware of. We share this article because it is important and underscores our mission. As we continue to fine tune our summer schedule and make our travel plans we ask that everyone in the Ruffnecks community maintains flexibility with regard to the travel schedule. There may be changes when we believe those changes are in the best interests of the players and the program.
The 2010 travel and tournament schedule provides an ambitious undertaking for the Ruffnecks program at all age levels. The 2010 season features 39 Tournaments for the five Ruffnecks teams from 13U to 18U. Our teams will compete in events in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, in addition to the New England area.
As the New England Ruffnecks program evolves, and as our reputation grows into one of the premiere College Development Programs (CDP), we face challenges forced upon us by the economic realities of our times. While the Ruffnecks are committed to significant travel, we are working to create events, tournaments, and alliances among other programs in the Northeast. We continue to consider viable events that provide exposure and competitive challenges close to home.
